Linda Reiter
Water artist gives her all for a big dream
Synchronized ace Linda Reiter has been swimming as a duet since this year. Now she and her partner have qualified for the European and World Championships. There she is supported by the federation, otherwise she and her family are investing everything themselves to achieve their goals. They have high hopes for sponsors.
She is the measure of all things in Salzburg, and this summer she will also represent red-white-red at major youth events for the first time: synchronized swimmer Linda Reiter. Since this year she no longer swims solo, but together with Viktoria Sobota in a duet. With her partner, she promptly qualified for the European Championships in Malta in June and the World Championships in Peru in August. "The coaches have said that we're a good match," says Reiter, pleased with her colleague.
The duo were also successful recently when they came third in a competition in Hungary. The costs for such competitions are not covered by the association as they are for major events. "My parents pay for it and I also get sponsorship from my club (SU Abtenau)," says the Abtenau native, who is happy to receive support. A sponsor from Salzburg also got hold of the tennis player from Tennengau. "I hope I can find more for this year."
For almost a year now, the 15-year-old has been attending a school in Mödling, where the training conditions are much better. She has a clear goal for the European Championships in Malta in June: "I want to reach the final. It's still difficult to say at the World Championships because you don't know who will be there."
