Shock attack in Vienna
Boy (13) stabs classmate in the head with scissors
A shocking incident at an educational establishment in Vienna-Brigittenau: shortly after the end of lessons - at around 1 p.m. - an attack with scissors is said to have taken place. A 13-year-old boy is said to have stabbed his classmate in the head with the tool on the way home. The teenager is now facing charges, as police spokesman Mattias Schuster confirmed to "Krone" on Monday.
The heinous attack happened when the two boys were on their way home. The 13-year-old is said to have stabbed his classmate in the head with a pair of blunt scissors. The victim received emergency medical treatment on Friday from the Vienna emergency services and was taken to hospital.
Weapon recovered on site
"The boy has since been able to leave the hospital. The scissors were provisionally seized at the scene," police spokesman Mattias Schuster told the "Krone" on Monday.
Pupil now faces charges
The suspect was eventually found by officers at his home address. However, questioning is still pending. The pupil is now facing charges on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
This is not the first shocking incident that has taken place in an educational institution. A similar heinous incident occurred last year: A scissor attack also occurred at an elementary school in the Mühlviertel region. On that occasion, several pupils allegedly cut the upper lip of a 7-year-old.
