Just three weeks before the local council elections in Vösendorf, the FPÖ is starting its intensive election campaign in a not exactly squeamish manner: incumbent ÖVP mayor Hannes Koza is becoming an enemy, and the choice of words is at times heavy-handed.

While the ÖVP and SPÖ are pouring buckets of dirt on each other in the Vösendorf election campaign, the Freedom Party has now launched its intensive election campaign with a frontal attack on the mayor. And just like the Neos, who warned of the "Koza Nostra" in reference to the ÖVP frontman's surname, the Blue Party is reaching deep into its box of puns.

Although the choice of words "Korruption ko(t)zt uns an" does not necessarily meet the highest standards, FPÖ top candidate Kerstin Liebl addresses a sore point: "In Vösendorf, corruption runs like a black thread all the way to the levers of power," says the law graduate. As such, she wants to stand up for the rule of law and fight for "clean and honest politics on behalf of and in the interests of the citizens" in the interests of transparency.

"Diversion is not an acquittal!"
She never tires of emphasizing that the proceedings against Hannes Koza were only dropped after a diversion - so there can be no question of an acquittal: "We need a fresh start in Vösendorf. Because it can't go on like this!"

Black-red squabbling paves the way for the blues
The lawsuits, which have also been brought against the SPÖ, which was in power before the ÖVP, naturally play into the hands of the Freedom Party. The mayor, meanwhile, is skilfully putting himself in the limelight, appearing affable and praising local agriculture. And denies to the APA that his election campaign costs were charged to the municipality. At the same time, the SPÖ accuses him of deliberately making it more difficult for red party events to take place as mayor. And the FPÖ is rubbing its hands in glee ...
