Key removed
Tractor blocked petrol pump in Tyrol for ten days
The police took the keys from a tractor driver in Kufstein in Tyrol after he behaved aggressively, creating a "curious" picture at a petrol station. Now the vehicle weighing several tons is gone again.
After various traffic violations in the past, a police check with lots of swearing and an "escape" in which an officer was apparently almost hit, the police - as reported - put a curious end to a farmer's activities for the time being.
In the middle of a petrol station in Kufstein, the tractor was surrounded by two police cars while refueling and the driver's keys were taken away. The vehicle caused astonishment among passers-by and drivers alike. The tractor was even decorated with plush chicks and flowers.
Angry videos and emails against the police and authorities
As a result, the agricultural machine weighing several tons blocked a BP petrol pump in Schubertstraße for ten days. In several TikTok videos, the owner of the tractor launched an all-out attack on the police and the district authority. In a written "clarification", he not only criticized the behaviour of the "overburdened officers" during the traffic check, but even wrote of a "planned sabotage action".
In the email, Unterländer also announced that he would charge 3,000 euros "development costs" per hour as long as he did not get the tractor key back.
On Thursday afternoon, after the "Krone" contacted the man, things happened very quickly. The tractor suddenly disappeared as if by magic and then reappeared a short time later in nearby Langkampfen. "The keys were handed back," said Herbert Haberl from the Kufstein district authority, shedding light on the matter - without going into the specific case.
