Pushed into the wall
Crazy scene! Driver causes deliberate crash
Incredible scene in Formula 3! Bulgarian Nikola Tsolov took revenge on his rival Alexander Dunne in Australia and deliberately pushed the Irishman into the wall.
The background: Dunne had apparently prevented Tsolov from setting a fast lap in practice and stood in the 17-year-old Bulgarian's way. A short time later, he retaliated.
Tsolov deliberately steered into Dunne on the straight, who crashed into the wall and tore off his right front axle. An incredibly unfair action that has probably never been seen before.
Sky published the scene on their Instagram channel:
"Race suspension", "License withdrawal"
"And his Formula 1 career is over," commented one user. Another wrote: "He should be banned from racing for this, that's not on." Tsolov's license is also up for discussion.
Grid penalty
Incidentally, Tsolov "only" received a grid penalty of three places from the race stewards and claimed after practice that the collision was not intentional. "I was a bit confused, Dunne was zig-zagging, I didn't know where he was going. I drove onto the left side and then felt a hit on the rear tire. I think it was just a little misunderstanding, but not intentional from either side. I knew he was there, but then I suddenly felt the blow. But it was nothing against him. There's nothing to gain in a training session, so I don't do things like that," the 17-year-old justified himself.
However, the pictures speak for themselves, Dunne also said: "It was my mistake at the beginning. I didn't see him behind me and I think I blocked his lap. Then he steered over to me and pushed me into the wall."
For Tsolov, the Formula 1 career he had hoped for is probably coming to an end ...
