Dating sites: what they cost, what they can do

Last year, Austrians paid around 27 million euros for the chance to find love or sex with more than 300 providers. Tinder, followed by Badoo and Bumble, are the most popular providers - what online dating costs searchers, what the services can do and where the journey is heading.

With spring fever comes the longing for a new partner for many people. There are two million singles in Germany, 1.1 million of whom like to use dating agencies and apps in their search for Mr. and Mrs. Right. More than 300 active dating sites currently offer their services in Austria, and according to the latest estimates there are around 2500 in the German-speaking world.
