Offer in court
Orgasm pope: From the erotic fair to court
The teacher Monika Ring from Upper Austria, who was dismissed without notice, refuses to accept her dismissal by the Education Directorate and took legal action against it on Tuesday. Although no agreement has yet been reached, the Education Directorate has offered a mutually acceptable dismissal - under certain conditions.
At the weekend she was one of the star guests at the erotic trade fair in Graz, but on Tuesday morning Monika Ring (47) was faced with a far less pleasurable appearance. The self-proclaimed pope of orgasms is fighting against the Department of Education.
Dismissal without notice
As reported, the authorities had dismissed the primary school teacher without notice shortly before Christmas after her side job had come to light. Monika Ring had presented herself on social media the previous year as the orgasm pope and wanted - according to her own definition - to breathe new lust into the sex lives of people over 45.
"Accidentally" discovered the site
After the father of a schoolchild in the small Mühlviertel community "accidentally" stumbled across her tips and advice, the uproar was huge. The highest school authority in the country reacted quickly, even though Monika Ring does not use any nude pictures, porn or raunchy comments.
Wants to defend herself
After two warnings, the teacher was dismissed - without notice. But the feisty primary school teacher refuses to put up with it. Together with her lawyer Manfred Arthofer, she took legal action against the dismissal without notice. The first hearing in the case, which made headlines across Austria, took place on Tuesday at the regional court in Linz.
Offer from the Education Directorate
The hearing was followed with great media interest. The state offered the former primary school teacher a settlement: amicable dismissal as of January 31. In return, there would be no more media reports on the subject in future and she would never be allowed to work as a teacher in Upper Austria again.
The counteroffer from Ring's lawyer: termination of employment on February 29 and, of course, access to the cease-and-desist declaration beforehand. The next step is to discuss whether the two parties can actually reach an agreement. In any case, Monika Ring said after the hearing: "I have to let the whole thing sink in now."
