Colombia in Carinthia
This chef delivers his menus himself
Colombia meets Carinthia. Alejandro Pulido Rodríguez expands the culinary scene in Upper Carinthia and conjures up international dishes within his own four walls!
Alejandro Pulido Rodríguez is bringing a little piece of Colombia to Austria. The 40-year-old, who has already worked as a chef in several hotels and restaurants in Upper Carinthia, fulfilled his dream this year and set up his own business.
The Colombian-born chef, who moved to Lendorf for love, has set up his own area in his home. "We have expanded and set up a company kitchen," says the young entrepreneur, who even brings his international delicacies directly to his customers' doorsteps via his own delivery service.
Products represented in hotels
Hoteliers are particularly enthusiastic about his home-grown microgreens. "These are sprouts from different types of vegetables that are full of vitamins. They are often used as a garnish."
Making his own refreshing drink
And because he was missing the right drink to go with his menus, he also worked on his own refreshing juice. "I came up with a ginger beer made from ginger and lemon," says the motivated family man, who places great emphasis on fresh, seasonal, regional and natural cuisine. "I first got to know the soup cube in Austria. There's nothing like that in Colombia."
