Slipped on sawdust: man fell five meters

Accident in the Upper Austrian district of Perg: While working on a roof, a man slipped on sawdust while handling a chainsaw.

A 56-year-old man from the district of Perg and his 27-year-old son-in-law were carrying out conversion work on the roof truss of the former farmhouse in Waldhausen im Strudengau on Friday. At around 6.20 p.m., the 56-year-old used a chainsaw to cut off elements of the existing roof truss on the tin roof of the conservatory.

Son-in-law called the rescue team
Due to the accumulated wood chips, the man probably started to slip and eventually fell about five meters over the edge of the roof. There he landed on a pile of bulky waste with his face and shoulder. The son-in-law immediately rushed to help and called the emergency services. The 56-year-old received emergency medical treatment and was taken to Amstetten Regional Hospital with undetermined injuries.
