Position for Israel
RAI boss under police protection after threats
RAI boss Roberto Sergio and his family have received threats after he took a clear stance in favor of Israel. The CEO of the public broadcaster has now been placed under police protection.
The threats reached Sergio after the rapper Ghali shouted "Stop the genocide in Palestine!" after his performance at the Sanremo music festival. The station had broadcast the event and in response spoke out in support of the Israeli people and the Jewish community. The station would report every day "on the tragedy of the hostages in the hands of Hamas", solidarity with "the Israeli people and the Jewish community is from the heart and out of conviction", said boss Sergio.
Left-wing demonstration in Naples
As reported, left-wing supporters of the rapper's statement then demonstrated in front of the RAI headquarters in Naples. Five security personnel and five demonstrators were injured in the incident on Tuesday.
