Learning through experience: a safe start in traffic
Driving safety training for new drivers has been an elementary component of multi-phase training since 2003.
For many people, passing their driving test is one of the most important moments in their lives. But even after that, you stay in training: car drivers have 3-9 months after obtaining their license to complete the mandatory driving safety training, motorcyclists
2-12 months. At ÖAMTC Fahrtechnik, the training courses are conducted according to the motto "learning through experience".
"It is crucial for new drivers to experience critical driving situations as part of the driving safety training and to recognize how important the choice of speed and attention are for safety on the road. Our spacious slopes with water obstacles and skid plate make this experience possible in a safe environment."

Perfect conditions
In the one-day driving safety training for the B driving license, emergency braking and evasive manoeuvres, cornering and correct behaviour in a skidding car are trained, and in the one-day driving safety training for motorcyclists, e.g. slalom driving, steering and vision technique, braking exercises, handling training and evasive manoeuvres.
After a further two months, the motorcycle perfection ride can be completed. Selected routes are ridden in small groups.
During all training sessions, participants receive tips and feedback from the instructor via radio. Driving safety training and perfection driving can be completed in one of the eight ÖAMTC driving technique centers throughout Austria.
L17 practical training
The advanced driver training for category B ("L17") is becoming increasingly popular. ÖAMTC Fahrtechnik offers the half-day L17 practical training course for drivers and co-drivers so that driving license applicants and co-drivers are prepared for the risks involved in road traffic. This includes training in braking and steering from the passenger seat in order to be able to intervene quickly in the event of incorrect reactions. There is also a 20 euro voucher for driver safety training after the driving test.
Complete training & win
Until March 31, 2024, there is something to win in addition to valuable experience: ÖAMTC Fahrtechnik is raffling off a sleek Suzuki Swift Sport Hybrid among its B driving safety training graduates. Graduates of the driving safety training for the A driving license and/or the motorcycle perfection ride can win the cult bike, Moto Guzzi V7 Stone.
