Austria enters the Song Contest with "Wasted Love" by JJ. The reactions of "Krone" readers to the track with countertenor vocals are quite mixed. In the betting odds, however, our entry is already in 4th place ...

Pop opera is the genre to which Austria's song contest number "Wasted Love" by JJ belongs. As reported, the countertenor's track has been available to listen to since Thursday.

Reactions from Krone readers have been mixed: "I think it's great! The only negative thing is that it's similar to last year's", says user iznarf, probably alluding to the then Swiss winner song "The Code" by Nemo.

Well at least ka Wokes blabla as usual ... nice and epic ... an orchestra or something similar would have done the whole thing a lot of good. Then it would sound fuller.

 "Freddie Mercury would be thrilled", says Yessica, another poster on krone.at thinks it's "a song tailor-made for the ESC", while juergen19071975 thinks that the song will often be called "Austria 0 Points" in the ratings.

Another point is addressed by Nutzer zuerst.denken: "Unfortunately a bit too good, the Küniglberg can't really afford to host the event in 2026." But before it really gets that far, there is of course still a long way to go for the young JJ, who first has to secure a place in the final at the semi-final on May 15. However: the powerful ballad "Wasted Love" is already in 4th place in the betting odds!
