Gold and silver for Ländle eagle Niklas Bachlinger

Niklas Bachlinger had already finished in a strong second place the day before at the FIS Cup jumping competition in Notodden, Norway. On Saturday at the second competition, the man from Schoppernau went one better - and finished at the top of the podium.

"If I can make it onto the podium in the second competition, I'll be happy," said Ländle eagle Niklas Bachlinger after the first FIS Cup in Notodden, Norway, when he had already jumped to a strong second place, beaten only by Tyrolean Simon Steinberger.

And on the second day, the double junior world champion even improved, Bachlinger was already in the lead after the first round and secured victory with a jump of 101.5 meters in the final. The man from Schoppernau scored 283.2 points with his two jumps, clearly relegating Steinberger to second place on his second attempt (-12.6).

Further improvements
André Fussenegger from Dornbirn improved his 21st place from Friday by eight places on Saturday and finished 13th (-34.3). Johannes Pölz also improved - the man from Schwarzenberg jumped to a good 13th place in the first competition, followed by a 12th place on day two (-33.2).

Second chance today
Things didn't quite go as hoped for Ulrich Wohlgenannt at the Continental Cup in Ruka, Finland, with the Dornbirn native finishing in 15th place. Markus Müller from Carinthia took the victory. Uli will have a second chance in Ruka on Sunday in the second competition.
