"Rose's Revolution"
Setting an example against violence in the delivery room
Monday is the day against violence in obstetrics - an experience that unfortunately up to 50 percent of all mothers have to make. The system is to blame, says Lisa Mittischek. The sociologist brought the "Roses Revolution" to Austria in 2014 and gives affected women a platform to talk about their traumatic experiences.
The "Roses Revolution" was originally launched by a Spanish midwife and culminates every year on November 25 in the laying of roses in front of the doors of delivery rooms and clinics. Mothers who have suffered violence during the birth of their children bring the flowers and then share pictures of them on the internet. Some write about their ordeal.

In some countries, such as our German neighbors, the movement has become very big. It always uses the same design and works according to the motto "Each woman is a rose". In 2014, sociologist Lisa Mittischek came across the issue of violence in obstetrics and decided to bring the "Roses Revolution" to Austria in the form of a Facebook page.
