Bloody attack in the heart of Vienna! Four injured

On Sunday night, a fight broke out between several people in Vienna's city center. Four men are said to have been attacked by another group of five with knives and iron bars. The investigation is in full swing.

The bloody altercation between two groups, each consisting of four and five men, took place on the Freda-Meissner-Blau-Promenade on the Danube Canal.

Armed with knives and sticks, the group of five attacked an 18-year-old, a 20-year-old, a 28-year-old and a 31-year-old. One victim suffered three stab wounds to his forearm and upper arm, another person suffered a cut. Another victim suffered a laceration to the head. According to the police, the two groups had probably not known each other beforehand.

When the officers arrived, the four seriously injured men were already being treated with first aid by witnesses and passers-by. Witnesses reported that the five suspects had fled in the direction of Augartenbrücke shortly after the brutal attack.

Identity still unknown
The four young men suffered injuries, some of them very serious, as a result of the attack. The Vienna Emergency Medical Services provided first aid at the scene and took them to hospital. 

The identity of the attackers has not yet been established, the investigation has been taken over by the Vienna State Criminal Police Office and is in full swing.
