Seekirchen celebrates the 150th anniversary of the fire department

They help wherever help is needed across 50 square kilometers. The volunteers of the Seekirchen fire department are always on hand in emergencies. They celebrated their anniversary in style.

The people of Seekirchen founded their fire department on June 30, 1874. 45 men began their work with two fire engines and horse-drawn vehicles. At the weekend, the 185 active members celebrated their 150th anniversary. They celebrated extensively with a cabaret, march and beer tent.

District fire brigade commander Klaus Lugstein (photo) and the volunteers were delighted with two newly inaugurated vehicles. A lot has changed technically, but one thing has not: "We want to help others when they are in need," said local commander Herbert Költringer.
