Rainer Probst had already tried various options, but nothing helped. His snoring robbed him of a good night's sleep. He finally found the solution at the Salzburg regional clinics.

The problem affects many people. Almost 60 percent of all men over 50 and almost 40 percent of all women over 50 in Austria snore. The life of Rainer Probst (47) changed for the better thanks to an operation at the Salzburger Landeskliniken after he had suffered from snoring for a long time.

The 47-year-old felt exhausted in the morning because his snoring made it impossible for him to get a deep, healthy sleep. This was caused by his severe sleep apnoea, i.e. breathing interruptions during sleep.

Probst only experienced an improvement when he was fitted with a tongue pacemaker at the University Clinic for Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases. The Salzburg native is relieved. He describes the effect of the operation as follows: "I'm well rested and fit every day. I have gained an enormous amount in quality of life."
