Tunnel closure in Zell am See from May 6

As reported, the ceiling at the south portal of the Schmitt Tunnel, which is in danger of collapsing, has to be extensively renovated. The tunnel has to be completely closed for the work. Traffic will have to divert via the Zell urban area.

In the Thumersbach district, vehicles weighing 3.5 tons or more will be banned from driving. This is intended to keep out heavy traffic. This traffic will have to drive through the urban area or take a wide detour.

The closure is to last until June 29. According to the plan, both lanes should then be reopened in time for the summer vacation.
