Cousin saw the serious motorcycle accident in the rear-view mirror
His cousin saw in the rear-view mirror how a 26-year-old motorcyclist in Steinbach am Attersee first crashed his bike into a stone wall on a left-hand bend and came to a standstill after 30 meters.
A 26-year-old from the district of Gmunden was riding his motorcycle on the L544, Großalmstraße towards Steinbach am Attersee at around 3.20 p.m. on Sunday. His 23-year-old cousin was riding a motorcycle in front of him. In the district of Kienklause, municipality of Steinbach am Attersee, the 26-year-old left the road in a left-hand bend and crashed into a stone wall. He came to rest on the side of the road after approx. 30 meters.
Apparently seriously injured
His cousin was able to see the fall in the rear-view mirror. The accident victim was responsive and apparently seriously injured. After receiving emergency medical treatment, the 26-year-old was taken by emergency helicopter to the Pyhrn-Eisenwurzen Hospital in Vöcklabruck.
There was also a crash in the Mühlviertel region
A 58-year-old man from Lower Austria was driving his motorcycle on the L579, Nordkammstraße in Unterweißenbach from Weitersfelden towards Unterweißenbach at around 12:50 p.m. on April 14, 2024. He overtook a 27-year-old motorcycle at around Strkm. 28.9, he overtook a 27-year-old motorcyclist from the Braunau district. According to the latter, the 58-year-old skidded his motorcycle after overtaking and subsequently crashed. The 27-year-old immediately administered first aid and called the ambulance. The accident victim was taken by rescue helicopter to Freistadt Regional Hospital with injuries of indeterminate severity.
