Drunken hooligan took a pistol from a nightclub

With a Glock 17 in his pocket, a very drunk man went on the rampage in a nightclub in Kremsmünster. He got into a fight with three other guests and provoked a scuffle. The landlord managed to restrain him. He found the pistol, two magazines and ten pieces of ammunition. He called the police.

The 43-year-old from Neuhofen an der Krems, who is known to the police, had come to the nightclub in Kremsmünster on Sunday morning heavily intoxicated. He is said to have aggressively insulted and provoked the guests there from 3.30 am. The result was a violent scuffle with three other patrons, as a result of which he ended up on the floor. His opponents were unharmed and then left the nightclub.

Weapon taken away
The bar owner managed to restrain the hooligan lying on the floor. He found the handgun. In addition to the Glock 17, the 43-year-old had two magazines and ten rounds of ammunition each. He alerted the police and kept the pistol in a safe place until the officers arrived.

The drunk man also behaved extremely aggressively and uncooperatively towards the police. He is also said to have verbally abused and insulted the police officers. He was arrested but later released after consultation with the public prosecutor's office and charged several times.

Had a weapons ban
The man, who is not authorized to carry a handgun himself, had allegedly secretly stolen the Glock 17 from his partner's safe. The 43-year-old was already subject to an official weapons ban.
