Directly in front of animal shelter
Ten cats abandoned in a taped-up box
With just a short message on a note, two cat families were left in a taped-up box by a stranger outside the animal shelter in Lower Austria.
Staff at the St. Pölten animal shelter recently made a shocking discovery: they discovered a taped-up box in front of the entrance area, the contents of which left them stunned. The box did not contain food donations, but live oriental shorthair cats.
Two to three weeks old
Three adult cats and seven kittens, to be precise. The kittens are about two to three weeks old, the male cat is not neutered, and the two mother cats were still waiting to be rescued.
No indication of the owner
There is no concrete indication of the owner. There was only a note in the box stating that it was no longer possible to care for the animals. The stranger also asked to take good care of them.
Of course, this is now happening at the animal shelter, where they also need medical care. This is because all the cats have severe colds and clogged eyes. "Due to the additional high costs of caring for the two cat families, we are urgently asking for support in the form of a donation," says the animal shelter, hoping for support.
