Probably a month's break
Strain! Inter announce Arnautovic’s diagnosis
Marko Arnautovic was examined at the Istituto Humanitas on Monday following his injury in the game against Bologna on Saturday. Inter have now announced the diagnosis: The striker has suffered a muscle strain in his right thigh. He will therefore be out for around a month. The Austrian will have to be examined again in the coming days.
The ÖFB striker was examined at the Rozzano hospital together with his team-mate Carlos Augusto on Monday morning. Inter Milan announced the diagnoses in a short official statement. While the Brazilian is suffering from a calf strain, Arnautovic has suffered a muscle strain in his right thigh.
The Austrian will therefore probably have to take around a month off. Milan have announced that both players will have to be examined again in the coming days. The exact recovery times should then be easier to assess.
Another setback
The 34-year-old is certain to miss the Champions League round of 16 second leg against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, as well as the league game against Napoli on Sunday. The striker is therefore also not an option for the upcoming international matches.
The 34-year-old will probably not be available to coach Simone Inzaghi until the match against Udinese on the weekend of April 6/7 at the earliest. This is already the second serious injury for the striker this season. Between the end of September and the beginning of November, he missed eight games due to a strain in his leg flexor muscle.
