Police sped off in a Porsche at 230 km/h
A man from Mühlviertel (47) sped away from the police on the S10 in a Porsche. A plainclothes patrol pursued the lead foot, but lost him. However, the officers caught the "racer" in the Freistadt district shortly afterwards. Now he is facing charges: 23 administrative and one criminal offense, driving license confiscated.
A plainclothes patrol from the Kefermarkt highway patrol took up the pursuit of the car, which was driving past at far too high a speed, at around 5.30 a.m. on Thursday on the S10. The driver then accelerated to up to 230 km/h, left at the Freistadt Süd exit and continued on the Walchshofer Landesstraße.
Driving more than twice as fast as permitted
He disregarded the 70 and 50 km/h restrictions there by driving more than twice as fast at times. He also endangered several oncoming drivers with his driving. At this point, the civil patrol vehicle was behind him with blue lights and flashing horn, but was unable to get him to stop.
Patrol lost sight of him
Due to the high speed of the powerful vehicle, the plainclothes patrol lost sight of him in a local area. After a short search, they came across the 47-year-old driver from the Freistadt district. A breathalyzer test revealed that he was under the influence of alcohol. The officers also noticed symptoms of drug impairment and asked him to undergo a clinical examination, which he refused to undergo.
Driver's license is gone
The man was charged with 23 administrative and one criminal offense. His driver's license was confiscated.
