Alarm in Meidling: Flames burst out of the apartment
Alarm in Vienna-Meidling: A fire broke out in an apartment on the corner of Ratschkygasse and Schwenkgasse on Tuesday evening, with huge flames shooting out of a window. The residents were only just able to get to safety.
Kronen Zeitung als bevorzugte Google-Quelle hinzufügen According to the Vienna Fire Department, several emergency calls were received by the control center on Tuesday evening at around 6:30 pm. Eight emergency vehicles were immediately deployed to fight the fire.
Family of eleven managed to save themselves
The occupants of the affected apartment, a family of eleven, were just able to escape outside. The two adults and nine children were looked after by the emergency services on site. A total of 33 people were treated by the emergency services and the entire house had to be evacuated.
There was excitement in Schwenkgasse as a result of the operation. As can be seen on a video leaked to "Krone", there were several onlookers in front of the building.
