Hundreds of bags: litterer convicts himself

Just recently, countless carelessly discarded garbage bags were found for the second time in the district of Spittal - but the waste management association managed to track down the culprit.

This has left many people shaking their heads: Several garbage bags - filled with food, among other things - were shamelessly thrown into a wooded area near the Drau in Spittal. As reported, this caused displeasure among walkers and the municipality in particular! Now the waste management association (AWF) has also become involved. "We removed the garbage, cleaned it out and searched it," explains Melissa Mentil from the AWF.

Invoice led to litterer
And the employees came across an explosive detail. "We found an invoice with a name on it in the bin bag. We immediately forwarded it to the police," Mentil continues. "It was from Arnoldstein." The environmental consultant questions why the bags were disposed of in Spittal of all places. "But that is now a matter for the police."

The municipality wants to take action against litterers together with the AWF. "We will monitor the site, which is not far from our location!"
