Others have lots of ideas on how to get young people interested in technology, but Andreas Fill prefers to focus on deeds rather than words. The plant and mechanical engineering company he runs has now set up a so-called "Next World Factory" in Gurten, which is primarily intended to give apprentices a chance to think outside the box. And a parking lot is now a flower meadow.

With the "Power Cube", Fill opened a multifunctional parking garage a few weeks ago, which has already been released for use by employees. The 10,000 square meter area, which was previously a gravel parking lot for the plant and machine engineering company's employees, is now a flower meadow. The renaturation has already begun in full.

Not only will flowers bloom on the former parking lot, but space will also be created for a so-called "Bee-O-Lab". Six stations will be set up to make the topic of bionics more tangible.

"Humans can learn a great deal from nature and the interdisciplinary research field of transferring phenomena from nature to technology plays a crucial role in this," emphasized Andreas Fill, who handed over the next investment to its destination on Tuesday morning.

The family business has created space for the so-called "Next World Factory". This is designed to help apprentices think outside the box of their own apprenticeship. The area is the almost logical continuation of the "Future Lab", which opened three years ago and is aimed at primary and secondary school students, who can experience the many facets of digitalization and automation here.
