On a slight right-hand bend, a 57-year-old in the district of Freistadt (Upper Austria) drove into the opposite lane and collided head-on with the car of a 20-year-old. No wonder the older man had difficulty keeping in lane - a breathalyzer test showed almost 2 per mille alcohol in his blood. 

A man from Pabneukirchen (57) was driving his van on the B 124 from Bad Zell towards Pierbach on Friday evening when he suddenly veered into the oncoming lane on a slight right-hand bend at 6.20 pm. There he crashed head-on into the car of an oncoming 20-year-old from Pierbach.

Miraculously, the 20-year-old was only slightly injured in the collision and was taken to Freistadt Hospital after first aid. The person responsible for the accident had to undergo a breathalyzer test, which unsurprisingly revealed a massive alcohol level of 1.9 per mille. His driver's license was immediately confiscated and the B 124 was closed until 8:00 pm.
