Vienna: Man (59) threatened wife with machete

On Tuesday evening, there was another case of domestic violence in an apartment in Vienna-Donaustadt. A woman (47) was threatened with a machete by her husband (59).

Officers were alerted to the apartment at around 10 pm after a violent argument broke out between the two. The suspect was quickly arrested. The machete was also seized as the suspected murder weapon.

He was banned from entering and approaching the premises and a temporary weapons ban was issued.

The alcohol test showed a level of 2.78 per mille. He has so far refused to make a statement and has been released.
