Bather attacks staff and policewoman

On Sunday afternoon, the police in Vienna-Penzing had to be called out after an aggressive bather (39) simply refused to pay admission to the outdoor pool. 

When the staff tried to stop the man from entering the pool at around 4.30 p.m., the 39-year-old became aggressive and attacked the staff. After a violent scuffle, the suspect fled. However, an off-duty officer was also on site at the time and was able to stop the 39-year-old in time.

Employee and officer injured
When the emergency services arrived, an injured employee had to be taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm. The off-duty officer was also slightly injured during the altercation with the suspect.

Reported at large
According to the alcohol test, the suspect had 1.1 per mille in his blood at the time. The 39-year-old was provisionally arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest and subsequently released.
