Suspended sentence for thieving cleaner

Opportunity makes thieves - this saying applies to the defendant's crime. According to the indictment, the German cleaner (58) saw a ring and a bracelet while cleaning an apartment in Henndorf at the beginning of May and pocketed them.

The jewelry was worth around 27,000 euros. The case was quickly uncovered and the woman, who had previously had no criminal record, was remanded in custody. Now, on Wednesday, she confessed to the charge of grand theft before a judge at Salzburg Provincial Court. She received a six-month suspended prison sentence and was released. She has already made full restitution for the damage. The judgment is final.
