Drunk driver simply left his car in a meadow

Witnesses raised the alarm in Tamsweg in the early hours of Thursday morning: a drunk driver had fled the scene and left the car on a meadow in the Seetal district. 

The police discovered the car badly damaged in a meadow on the Murtalstraße. The driver had first broken through a fence while driving and had then been stopped. He simply removed the license plates and fled. The officers eventually identified a 28-year-old Ukrainian as the driver.

The man could be found at his home in St. Michael. A breathalyzer test showed a level of 1.18 per mille. He had to surrender his driver's license.

The Tamsweg fire department was alerted and secured the scene of the accident. The car involved in the accident was recovered with a heavy rescue vehicle. The Ukrainian then arranged for his car to be towed away. He is now facing several charges.
