20 million euros in special funding for Landeck district
The so-called regional economic support program has been extended by the state of Tyrol from the Upper Court to the entire district of Landeck and investment subsidies have been doubled. The focus is on Timber construction, town centre revitalization, energy-related environmental projects and strengthening Landeck as a university location.
Expanded and doubled - this was the brief summary of the media meeting at the Landeck district administration office on Friday. The province of Tyrol has devised so-called regional economic development programs (RWP) for "structurally weak regions". So far, the Upper Court region has benefited from millions in annual funding from 2015 to 2023.
The figures speak for themselves: 282 projects triggered an investment volume of around 115 million euros.

A success story for LH Anton Mattle: "The figures speak for themselves: 282 projects triggered an investment volume of around 115 million euros." Reason enough to increase the number of projects by extending them to the entire district and doubling the annual million!
Large battery systems for energy storage
The program priorities for the new period have already been defined. Key innovations include the expansion of funding for timber construction and support for energy-related environmental projects, which will also include large-scale battery systems for storing energy from the start of the program in 2025. There will also be a focus on the revitalization of town centres and the revitalization of vacant properties.
A new focus will be placed on integrating Landeck as a university location. "Education in rural areas is an essential prerequisite for further development," BH Siegmund Geiger, Chairman of the RWP, is convinced. The program is also worth its weight in gold for the job market, as 187 new jobs have been created so far.
