Sofia Polcanova eliminated in the round of 16

European champion Sofia Polcanova reached the last 16 of the women's table tennis World Cup in Macau, China, on Thursday.

The Upper Austrian lost 4:0 (-8, -10, -5, -9) to the Puerto Rican Adriana Diaz at the tournament, which has prize money of one million dollars.

On Wednesday, Polcanova had narrowly made it through to the last 16, where Diaz, ranked tenth in the world, was ultimately one size too big.
