Apartment mold endangers Ms. Unterberg's health in Salzburg-Aiglhof - Gswb explains why the tenant has had to wait months for the help she is entitled to in court.

Ms. Olga Unterberger from Radetzkystraße in Aiglhof no longer understands the world: the Salzburg city resident was awarded justice in court in two instances. Gswb, Salzburg's largest non-profit housing developer, was ordered by the regional court in 2023 to carry out structural measures to remove the mold in the apartment. No wonder, as mold is also a serious health hazard. "The orders are to be enforced - Gswb has already paid our costs," explains Unterberger lawyer Hellmut Prankl.

So far, so good.

But nothing has happened since the Gswb appeal was rejected in November - the 72-year-old pensioner and her cat Balu are still exposed to black mold in their living room and bedroom. "People from the Gswb were there and explained to the lady what needed to be done. They just wanted to extend the guttering and simply fob Mrs. Unterberger off. That was just another alibi solution. Something has to be done underground - as stated in the resolution," explains Prankl angrily.

Gswb has now responded to an inquiry from Krone. When asked why Ms. Unterberger had not been helped long ago, they said that they were in active contact with the lady, "there still has to be coordination with the construction company and the expert, then everything will be done within the deadline set by the court. No insulation work can be done in winter."
