Upheaval at the "Reds"
Klopp successor: Liverpool agree on new coach!
Liverpool FC have apparently found a successor for cult coach Jürgen Klopp. Rúben Amorim is to replace the long-serving successful coach of the "Reds" from next season. As reported by Sky, the English top club has already reached a verbal agreement with the Portuguese.
Amorim, who currently coaches Portuguese league leaders Sporting, still has a contract until 2026, but this includes an exit clause, meaning Liverpool could sign the 39-year-old as early as this season. In principle, the Premier League runners-up are said to have already reached an agreement with Amorim regarding a transfer, although final negotiations are still pending.
An era comes to an end
After nine years, the successful coach is set to follow in the footsteps of Jürgen Klopp. The German had led the Reds to one cup, one league and one Champions League title, but he will leave the traditional club after the season.
With Amorim, Liverpool FC would have one of the most promising coaches of the coming years on their side. The 14-time Portugal team player is regarded as a communication professional and tactical genius. In addition to the Reds, FC Bayern and Chelsea FC are also said to have had the former midfielder on their list.
