Longer forced break
Hip surgery! Setback for ÖSV athletes from Lavanttal
Setback for Felix Hacker! After his World Cup debut last season, the athlete from Lavanttal has to undergo another hip operation. The 24-year-old is now facing a longer forced break. . .
Bad news for Felix Hacker from Lavanttal! The 24-year-old speed specialist will have to undergo hip surgery on Friday in Schwaz (T). The reason: a congenital hip malposition and overloading of the hip joint. "The hip labrum could also have been affected, but you can only see that during the operation," sighs Hacker.
Hip surgery once before
Unfortunately, this is not a new situation for the customs athlete. Hacker already had to have hip surgery in 2022. Back then, he was out of action for around five and a half months. It is not yet clear how long it will take this time. "But certainly longer again. I don't know the exact details myself yet," says Hacker. The start of the next season could therefore be uncertain.
World Cup fixed ticket narrowly missed
He was only able to compete in the last European Cup races this year with painkillers. After his World Cup debut in Bormio and his first European Cup victory in the super-G in Saalbach (Sbg), he missed out on the World Cup fixed ticket in the super-G by just twelve hundredths in sixth place. And now he has to fight his way back.
