Hungarian caught
Speeding through St. Gallen at more than 100 km/h
A 34-year-old Hungarian is likely to get into real trouble with the Swiss authorities. In neighboring St. Gallen, the man was speeding through the city at 106 km/h. This means he will lose his driving license in Switzerland for at least a year. Criminal proceedings will also be opened against him.
Shortly after midnight, the 34-year-old fell into the speed trap on Speicherstrasse. Even after deducting 4 km/h, he still ended up with a speed limit of over 100 km/h. However, the speed limit in this section is only 50 km/h.
Heavy fine
The city police quickly found the culprit. It was a 34-year-old driver from Hungary who was driving a replacement vehicle. Criminal proceedings were initiated by the St. Gallen public prosecutor's office. In addition to a custodial sentence, the foreign driver's license will be revoked for at least one year in Switzerland for the serious traffic offence.
