Aviation booming
FACC: Profit increased and booked out for years to come
Tough wage negotiations, warning strikes, works meetings - and countless flights that have to be canceled! Not only Austrian Airlines customers have been affected by the tug-of-war over higher wages in recent days, other airlines are also struggling. Apart from that, aviation is booming. Supplier FACC from the Innviertel (Upper Austria) is also benefiting from this.
In the previous year, 3670 aircraft were ordered from Airbus and Boeing alone, while the number of deliveries of completed aircraft also increased - two circumstances from which FACC is also benefiting.
The aircraft supplier from the Innviertel region (Upper Austria) increased its turnover to 736 million euros in 2023 and also increased its operating profit before interest and taxes to 17.5 million euros.
And the Upper Austrian company is also looking forward to the future. The long-term order book contains orders worth around 5.8 billion US dollars. "We are very well booked for the next seven to ten years," said CEO Robert Machtlinger recently.
Headcount to grow to around 4000 employees
After extreme staff cuts a few years ago, FACC now has a huge need for personnel. Last year, 536 new employees were brought on board. This year, the number of employees is expected to rise to around 4000, which means an increase of several hundred employees.
