Salzburg AK confirms Eder as president
Following the recent AK elections, the plenary assembly of the Salzburg Chamber of Labor met today to decide on the future leadership. In a secret ballot, the 70 chamber members confirmed Peter Eder as AK President with 94.3 percent approval.
The plenary assembly of the Salzburg Chamber of Labor today confirmed Peter Eder as AK President in a secret ballot with 94.3 percent approval. In his speech, Eder emphasized the importance of the AK as the voice of employees and called on politicians to implement the AK's proposals, particularly with regard to tax justice, relief from inflation and sustainable solutions in areas such as housing, childcare, education, nursing and care.
Eder cited the fight for more distributive justice as a challenge and warned against a reduction in non-wage labor costs. He called for a value-added tax as well as taxes on inheritances and high assets. Eder emphasized the need for effective measures against inflation and for affordable housing, healthcare, nursing care and childcare.
With the expertise of the AK experts, we will continue to work together across parliamentary groups over the next five years to find solutions and hold the responsible politicians to account so that these are implemented in the interests of employees

Finally, Eder addressed the establishment of a specialist committee for care, health and social professions and emphasized the importance of social partnership. The confirmation of Peter Eder as AK President reflects the trust of the people of Salzburg and underlines the need to place the interests of employees more strongly in the political focus.
