The plenary assembly of the Salzburg Chamber of Labor today confirmed Peter Eder as AK President in a secret ballot with 94.3 percent approval. In his speech, Eder emphasized the importance of the AK as the voice of employees and called on politicians to implement the AK's proposals, particularly with regard to tax justice, relief from inflation and sustainable solutions in areas such as housing, childcare, education, nursing and care.

Eder cited the fight for more distributive justice as a challenge and warned against a reduction in non-wage labor costs. He called for a value-added tax as well as taxes on inheritances and high assets. Eder emphasized the need for effective measures against inflation and for affordable housing, healthcare, nursing care and childcare.
