Pregnant woman (22) beaten to hospital by boyfriend

On Sunday night, a 26-year-old Syrian man allegedly beat his pregnant girlfriend until she was ready for hospital and kicked her in the stomach. The 22-year-old was taken to hospital.

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, a 22-year-old woman and her 26-year-old boyfriend (from Syria) allegedly got into an argument. The 26-year-old is said to have punched his six-month pregnant girlfriend several times and kicked her in the stomach. 

Already violent in the past
The young woman was able to flee to a pub and call the police. When the officers arrived, they found the 26-year-old in the apartment and arrested him on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and making dangerous threats.

The expectant mother was taken to hospital by the Vienna emergency services. The suspect is said to have beaten his girlfriend in the past and threatened to kill her. The man was banned from entering and approaching the house and a temporary weapons ban was issued.

After the suspect was questioned, he was released by order of the Vienna public prosecutor's office.
