Investigation underway
Three dead bodies discovered in Lower Austria: Identities have been established
Following the discovery of three dead bodies with gunshot wounds in Bad Vöslau (Lower Austria) on Saturday afternoon, the identities have been established. According to Stefan Pfandler, head of the Lower Austrian State Office of Criminal Investigation, the owner of the apartment and two men from his circle of friends and acquaintances died.
All three victims are Austrian citizens. The owner of the apartment was born in 1946, the two other men in 1956 and 1969 respectively.
The relatives were informed during the night and some of them are now being questioned about the background. The "reason for the meeting and what could have happened" is to be clarified.
Autopsies planned for Monday and Tuesday
The autopsies ordered by the Wiener Neustadt public prosecutor's office on Saturday are planned for Monday and Tuesday. It is certain that the bodies have gunshot wounds to the upper body and head.

Handgun and long gun seized
One obvious theory is that one of the three people involved may have shot the other two and committed suicide. In any case, a handgun and a long gun were seized. Which of the three men fired and whether this was the case at all will be determined not least by examining the hands for traces of gunshot residue.
Bodies discovered after fire
The bodies were discovered by firefighters who had been alerted to a fire and the sound of banging on Saturday afternoon. The flames in the apartment were quickly extinguished, traces of the fire were visible in the interior and on the balcony.
On Sunday, interrogations of relatives and the evaluation of evidence were on the agenda. Autopsies, which will be carried out at the beginning of the week, should provide clarity about the background.
