The documents on the controversial villa purchase in Salzburg are complete again and Governor Wilfried Haslauer (ÖVP) now admits to errors in digitization. However, the state does not have a fiduciary declaration for the oligarch structure.

There was a big fuss in Salzburg: a file on the purchase of the fisherman's house on Lake Fuschl could no longer be found in the archives of the provincial authority because it had been shredded. The villa belongs to the daughter of Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich.

Reversal of the purchase demanded
The Greens previously suspected a violation of the Land Transfer Act and demanded that the purchase be reversed. And this requires the deed - which is how the mishap came to light. "The file has now been reconstructed and is complete," reported Governor Haslauer in the Salzburg state parliament on Wednesday. The municipality of Fuschl and interest groups were able to help out. "It is good that the governor has taken a stand today and also admitted to an obvious mistake," said Simon Heilig-Hofbauer (Greens).

Research network "Cyprus Confidential"
According to Haslauer, however, there are no indications of a fiduciary declaration. This declaration would be important for a possible reversal of the transaction because the research network "Cyprus Confidential" has uncovered that the villa with an agricultural area came into the possession of the oligarch family via an offshore company and a British trustee.

Cost: eleven million euros
The purchase by the British woman was completed in 2007. Cost: eleven million euros. At the time, the relevant land transfer commission gave its approval. In 2017, the property was finally donated by the British woman to Anna Abramovich.

State also wants the declaration of trust
Haslauer and the province's Department 4 would like to have the declarations of trust. Requests to the media and platforms that have the declaration have so far come to nothing. The state is now considering taking legal action to obtain the document.
