After four cruciate ligament ruptures, most people are happy when they can walk normally again. However, despite her long history of injuries, Vorarlberg's Ariane Rädler has a lot more in store. After delivering the best season of her career in terms of points last winter, the 29-year-old downhill skier wants to achieve even (much) more in the coming months.

At the end of last season, Vorarlberg's last winner of a World Cup downhill race, Christine Scheyer, drew a line under her career shortly before her 30th birthday. "But I'm still a long way from that," says Ariane Rädler, who will celebrate her 30th birthday in January 2025, with a laugh. "The fact that I've lost a few years due to injury means that the end of my career is not yet so close and tangible."
