New year brings tangent horror to the Viennese

The patience of Viennese drivers on the A23 is already being put to the test, but that was just preparation for the absolute construction site hammer from March 17. ASFINAG, ÖBB and the city are doing everything they can to prevent a traffic collapse - and are skeptical about the extent to which they will succeed.

With around 80,000 vehicles per day between Inzersdorf and Hirschstetten, the A23 is easily one of the busiest roads in Austria. But there is room for more, specifically 100,000 vehicles on the core section of the Prater elevated highway. It is precisely this section of road that will be completely renovated next year.
