Man injured wife: arrest in Vienna

A 51-year-old father was temporarily arrested on Friday evening in Vienna-Brigittenau as a result of domestic violence. 

As the provincial police directorate announced on Saturday, the adult son had called the police at around 9 p.m. after a repeated physical altercation between the parents. The father is said to have threatened and slightly injured his wife, who is three years younger than him.

Prohibition to enter the house issued
The arrest was made on suspicion of serious coercion. A ban on entering and approaching the house as well as a temporary weapons ban were issued. The 51-year-old was still being held by the police at midday on Saturday.
