Rammed a police car three times during a chase

Romanian (45) with 13 previous convictions has now been charged after a dangerous chase in Pinzgau: according to the indictment, he rammed a police car three times even though there were ten Syrians in the minibus.

On December 11, 2023, a Romanian minibus driver (45) sped off first the Bavarian and then the local police officers in Pinzgau. During the chase, the driver rammed a police car three times, according to the public prosecutor's indictment.

He also broke through roadblocks set up by the police. A police officer tried to stop the vehicle by firing two shots from his service weapon - injuring one of the fugitives in the hand. Later, when the minibus got stuck in the snow in a field near Saalfelden, the driver tried to flee on foot. Another shot was fired from a police weapon, injuring a Syrian - but unintentionally.

While the investigations against the police officers have already been completed, the Romanian, who has 13 previous convictions (defense lawyer Kurt Jelinek), has to appear before the criminal court. Charges: smuggling, deliberately endangering the public and resisting public authority. According to the indictment, he was also part of a criminal organization, as accomplices drove ahead and organized the smuggling trips. They were paid 2300 euros per refugee.
