Vasiliki Alexandri showed the way at the European Championships in Belgrade and won gold. Linda Reiter wants to do the same at the Junior European Championships in Malta. The dress rehearsal went very well.

Vasiliki Alexandri won her first European Championship gold medal at the European Swimming Championships in Belgrade (Serbia). The 27-year-old soloist came out on top in the technical freestyle in impressive style. At the Junior European Championships in Malta, a young athlete from Salzburg wants to do the same. Linda Reiter (SU Abtenau) will start there on Sunday evening in a duet with partner Viktoria Sobota.

The team fine-tuned their skills at a training camp in Croatia. There, Reiter swam solo for a change and won the internationally well-attended competition. However, there is one fly in the ointment: "Unfortunately, we haven't been able to train as much with the duet recently. On the one hand, we focused more on the team with the aim of qualifying for the European Championships. Unfortunately, we didn't achieve this goal. On the other hand, we also had a few absences due to illness and injury." But that should not stand in the way of their goals.
