Seriously injured on the head by a pigeon throwing machine

An unusual leisure accident ended early on Friday evening for a 52-year-old man in Tyrol with serious head injuries in hospital. The man was hit by the arm of a pigeon throwing machine.

The local man was carrying out maintenance work on a pigeon throwing machine in Schwoich (Kufstein district) shortly before 5.30 pm. Suddenly, the throwing arm of the throwing pigeon machine came loose and hit the 52-year-old man in the head with full force.

Flown to hospital with injuries
"The man had to be flown to Innsbruck Hospital by the Heli 3 emergency helicopter with serious injuries to his head," said the police.
