Anger at authorities
Driver’s license denied: truck driver rams into US office
Because he was denied his driver's license, a truck driver unceremoniously rammed into the office of a US government agency. Several people were injured and the driver was arrested.
The office building in Brenham, Texas, is home to the Department of Public Safety, where driving licenses are issued, among other things. As the "New York Times" reports, the truck driver had applied for a commercial driver's license, but was denied.
"Clearly on purpose"
He then rammed his truck into the office. "He clearly drove into the building on purpose," posted Mark Keough, judge of the relevant judicial authority, on Facebook.
Truck is said to be stolen
The exact number of people injured is unclear. The vehicle is also believed to be a stolen truck. Video footage on social media shows the heavily laden trailer and the tractor unit. The building was badly damaged.
The angry driver was arrested at the scene and is in police custody.
