NEOS do not give in
COFAG: Kogler calls allegations “bottom drawer”
Green Party leader and Vice-Chancellor Werner Kogler indignantly rejects alleged interventions in the COFAG management. The NEOS had accused the Greens of mismanagement in the context of the U Committee. Kogler emphasized on Friday that there had been "zero interventions" and that he would "not put up with" the accusations.
NEOS MP Yannick Shetty accuses the Greens of having pressured the COFAG management to accelerate the application of a certain company for corona aid based on emails from Werner Kogler's cabinet. Kogler replied that it had been "the other way around".
NEOS and SPÖ had publicly addressed problems with the payment of corona aid at the time, whereupon it had to be asked whether it was actually "such a terrible fate". "That was the reason for the inquiry", the Vice Chancellor justified the emails.
"I am really annoyed that this has been completely twisted 180 degrees", he explained. This is "bottom drawer". Kogler called for a "sensible debate".
NEOS not backing down
Despite this, the NEOS stood by their criticism on Friday: Kogler spoke "of a completely different mailing from March 2021, which we never considered an intervention and which is not connected to the criticized case", said Shetty.
"The email we are referring to is from November 2020, in which an employee of the Kogler cabinet literally asks COFAG to speed up the process - in a completely different case."
